Title: A Perfect Lady
Author: Kimberly Née
Genre: Adult Historical Romantic Fiction
Review Rating: Five Stars

Sweet and Sexual

1791 -Island St. Kitts

At the Sheraton's Masquerade Ball Lady Rebecca Alexander, Baron Windemere's daughter drank a little too much and ended up in the arms of an accomplished seducer, Captain James McKenzie.
Now six weeks later Rebecca's father is trying to marry her to a Mr.Taggert, that she can not stand and she informs her father she cannot marry him because she is expecting a child and all hell breaks loose on her head.
Later, Rebecca finds herself married and on her husband's ship, The  Siren headed toward New Brunswick, New Jersey, in America. Although she's lived in St. Kitts all her life, she is British. Her new life seems terrifying and impossible.
This super sexy delightful romance is fraught with problems but you find yourself just knowing there will be a solution. I loved every minute and did not want it to end. It was a page turner full of surprises.
Even Rebecca's maid, Agnes Bertrand was full of surprises.
Rebecca is shy and retiring, blushes crimson and yet is totally sensual.
Of course, she is a beauty even if she is unaware of the fact and the Captain is a handsome devil that can be very kind despite himself.
You fall in love with both of them and worry about their many problems with them.
It is a most entertaining Regency romance with pitfalls and solutions. I give this delight Five Stars and wish I had Six to give. I would read it again and I never read books the second time, well, only once with Johanna Lindsey's book, "The Rebel" but I think Kimberly Nee could give her competition.
I loved this book!

Title: Misfortune's Lady
Author: Sandra Sookoo
Genre: Romance Historical Ménage  Erotica

Sex and Sensuality

Mr. John Goddard fell in love with Miranda Ellis Mason Craythorne years ago but had to return to his job as a Bow Street Runner before he could secure their love. She married his best friend after he left and he waited for her to be single again but she remarried too quickly again.
Miranda fell for John at their last meeting years ago but remarried hurriedly when he left her for his job.         He didn't come to her when she again became a widow and she remarried again still thinking about him.      After years of wondering what it would be like to be with him, he finally shows up at her request. She thought to match him with her cousin but when she sees him she sees her feelings are still engaged with him.
Richard Howick is a friend of John's that knows all about John's infatuation with the red tipped golden haired widow. He's heard about John's great love for her and fell in love with her from John's ravings of her.
The problem is they both want her. They devise a plan whereby they can both have her. The next problem is to convince her of their solution.
This story is supposed to take place in Regency England and although the author gives you an explanation that she used poetic license with her work in this time frame it is still hard for me to believe this setting. I love Regency romance and read the paranormal but the promiscuousness in this time frame is just hard to believe.
I realize that the society throws them out and she has nosy neighbors and a rotten butler but it just felt like more humorous than real. I did enjoy the characters but I love a story I can believe even if it has vampires or shapeshifters but the ménage just didn't feel right to me.
I wanted it to have more plot and the substance of the other characters to have more flesh. They just seemed unreal.
However, the story was entertaining and the main characters had their own personalities. You found yourself rooting for John and then for Richard. Miranda was just very wishy washy. She just couldn't make up her mind for trying.
I detested the butler and her neighbors but they were comical. I digress.
The long and the short is this: It was an interesting read but essentially not of Regency fabric. The effect was lost on me.
I gave the author Four Stars for an interesting sexual stomp through a historical period. As I said before sexual and sensual erotic stomp. The author had a new way to define Regency that I never thought of before. I'm sure some will find it totally tittalating!

Date: 11/29/12 Review By Linda Hays-Gibbs of Falcon's Angel
By Danita Minnis
Published 2012
ISBN 978-1-59578-942-6

In a world that is forever in flux between the past and present a great love story abides between Falcon and Sasha or Angelina, his Angel. She goes by several names as he does. They are in Yorkshire, England and Italy most of the time but there is a lot of travel between times and places. Although their names change between time periods from the 1780's till the present, it is not difficult to find them. They are always together.
Falcon is an aristocrat that has turned into an assassin to accomplish his quest to annihilate an extreme evil. This evil is il Dragone, a devil-worshiping cult, he remembers from his dreams. He has been on the trail of a stolen Stradivarius for ten years. His boss is certain that a certain young lady that plays this instrument is the thief. Falcon is not so sure and decides he has to get up close and personal to find out why this beautiful young lady would be a thief.
Angel was born in the aristocracy too but prefers her violin music to anything until Falcon enters into her life. Her dreams torment her of a terrifying fire where she is consumed to claustrophobic dreams of being literally enclosed. Her fears seem about to envelope her into insanity until Falcon. He seems so familiar to her and they can't seem to leave each other alone. Her only passion was her violin music but now it has a different flavor when he plays piano with her violin. The passion between them turns into a raging inferno and consumes them until they find themselves in a lot of trouble from outside sources.
The main antagonist is a cult that worships a dragon. The story weaves them through a labyrinth with a dragon on their trail ready to eat them with his fiery head. Other dangers await with the cult members trying to murder them.
Without warning you are on beautiful estates that have withstood the sands of time. The beautiful descriptions of these estates keep you intrigued. Their memories and trials take them on a cross-country hunt for these people evil people.
Next we are back into danger again. The dragon's blood gives the cult extraordinary powers. They can disappear and appear as shadows on the walls. Falcon and Angel battle these powers of evil over several centuries. Their determination and love keeps the story going, so from cover to cover you can't wait to find out what happens next. It has a passion and mystery that ignites your blood.
I was moved by the personalities of the characters from the heroine finding her own strength and power to the hero that only grows more powerful in his time. The characters are myriad and complex in their intensities. The poetic descriptions were beautiful and moved the story along gracefully. The music in the story only strengthened the characters personalities and added color and depth. They form a basic tale of love conquering time and place. I was very moved by the lover's story.
I love the Paranormal and Regency England so I was in heaven with this beautiful tale. I hope to find more of this author's books on the shelves soon. I give this book a rating of five stars out of five. It was an enjoyable read. Linda Hays-Gibbs, Reviewer

Title: An Irish Rose Author: Erin Moira O'Hara Review Rating: Five Stars Reviewer: Linda Hays-Gibbs This story takes place in 1959 in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland; when 28 year old virgin, Claire Nugent decides to travel to Australia to be in her sister's wedding She is supposed to marry a 40 year old man or become a nun, but she has dreams no one knows about. Her dreams of falling in love are never to be if she stays in Ireland. Claire decides her only hope is this trip. She finds one man that drives her insane and won't leave her alone. He is at every dance she attends and acts so possessive. Daniel Hunter decides on his beautiful Irish rose but there is only one problem; she hates him. He has tried everything he knows to claim her heart but she refuses him. Will Daniel suffer in vain? Will Claire become a nun or return to her home and marry an old man? Or will she fall in love in Australia? What a lovely romantic story with the Irish accents in the dialogue and the Australian or Aussy coming out in Daniel's slant. The descriptive elements are resourceful. I must say, It was totally delightful. Regretfully, I wanted more from this author. It was just a little too short but a great romantic fantasy. The dialogue was expressive and interesting. The characters stayed in their personalities and were very strong in so short a tale. I do look forward to more of this author's work. I give her Five Stars for a wonderful romantic tale. Li nda Hays-Gibbs

A Lesson to be Learned on the Anniversary of Wounded Knee
I'm sending this as it came to me with one exception.

**See comments at the end**

12-08-25 Indian Chief
SURE, you can trust the government...
Ask any Indian.

A Lesson to be Learned on the Anniversary of Wounded Knee

December 29, 2012 marked the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms “for their own safety and protection”. The slaughter began AFTER the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. **1

When the final round had flown, of the 297 dead or dying, two thirds (200) were women and children.

Around 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, over half cut down by friendly fire from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry were deemed “National Heroes” and awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of cowardice.

We do not hear of Wounded Knee today. It is not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little does exist about Wounded Knee is normally the sanitized “Official Government Explanation” or the historically and factually inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre on the movie screen. **2

Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people. **3

Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun-control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment- The right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government.

The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted “hunting” was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and “target shooting” was an unheard of concept, musket balls were a precious commodity in the WILDS of early America, and were certainly not wasted “target shooting”. **4

The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defense purposes should such tyranny rise in the United States.**5

As time goes on the average citizen in the United States continues to lose personal freedom or “liberty”. Far too many times unjust bills are passed and signed into law under the guise of “for your safety” or “for protection”.

The Patriot Act signed into law by G.W. Bush, then expanded and continued by Barack Obama is just one of many examples of American citizens being stripped of their rights and privacy for “safety”. Now, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is on the table, and will, most likely be taken away for “our safety”.

Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute<><>~

Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We cannot legislate “evil” into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, defective people will always find a way around it.

Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years across the globe, where is “evil” and “malevolence” most often found? In the hands of those with the power<>governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments.

Who do governments target? “Scapegoats” and “enemies” within their own borders…but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they are no longer a threat.

Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise.

Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer “We were disarmed before it happened”.

Ask any Jew what Hitler’s first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was~<>~confiscation of firearms from the people.

Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we shouldn’t be in such a hurry to surrender our Right to Bear Arms.

Without the Second Amendment we have no right nor ability to defend ourselves and our families.

<><><><><><><><><><><
**1 there was a federal law that First Nations Peoples were not allowed to own firearms. They were a threat to people of the "frontier.  I don't know if there is such a law.

**2 the government has never repented for the actions toward First Nations Peoples. Repentance is not merely a "religious" word. It means to be sorrowful, to change direction, change behavior, change attitude.

**3 There was also the drive to "sell" the idea giving up firearms, donning a black suit, a black top hat meant the Indian was "civilized" like the "white man".

**4 "wilds". This was a very European attitude; tame the wild Indian. Tame the wild land.

**5 old Europe knew about tyrannical rulers.

As stated up in the narrative, Regarding scapegoats, for example, when Nero torched Rome, he used Christian People as scapegoats...blamed them for the social ills of that society.

I'm just a silly woman with a wild imagination. I have raised my children and am now doing what I love, writing! I started my writing career in April of 2012...I've been a busy girl!

I have penned three books coming out on Eternal Press in 2013. Killing the Desire, an erotic thriller, A Beautiful Liar, Book one of the Maggie West Series and Maggie's Men, Book Two of the Maggie West Series.

I am currently working the third and most likely final book in the Maggie West series Maggie's Misery as I've gotta give that girl her happy ending sometime!

I love thunderstorms, a good game of pool and men watching! I currently live in the state of confusion....I mean NC and am very happy and very, very single ;)

Thank you so much
